ABBY MONKMAN
MSW, BSW, & Therapist
Hi, I’m Abby Monkman (she/her), a Registered Social Worker based in Ontario. I understand that reaching out for therapy takes courage, and I strive to create a warm, supportive space where you feel truly heard. With experience working alongside individuals, families, and caregivers, I recognize that each stage of life brings unique challenges. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, grounded in building a genuine, non-judgmental connection while helping you gain clarity, recognize your strengths, and move toward your personal goals.
ABOUT ME
I take a relaxed, conversational approach to therapy, supporting clients through concerns such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, substance use, and relationship challenges. My work is grounded in a strength-based and narrative approach, with a foundation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and mindfulness to help build awareness, manage stress, and support meaningful, lasting change.
I prioritize creating a comfortable, non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions openly. Through active listening and collaboration, I tailor my approach to your unique needs and goals, helping you better understand patterns in your life and how they may be contributing to distress. Together, we can work toward building practical tools, strengthening self-awareness, and creating a greater sense of balance and clarity.
While growth and change can feel challenging at times, I believe in your capacity for resilience. My role is to support and guide you through that process, helping you feel grounded, understood, and empowered along the way.
